If you’re looking to eat healthier, you may have heard of FlavCity.
I first came across Flavcity through their Youtube channel. Bobby goes to different grocery stores pointing out what items are healthy and which are not.
I love shopping at Costco and Trader Joes’, so I quickly became a fan!
Bobby is more of a keto guy. I’m a plant-based girl, but I still find his insight on food labels and ingredients very valuable.
From years of watching his videos, I’ve learned a thing or two about what he considers important to stay in shape.

The Flavcity Weight Loss Tips
The following are Bobby-approved weight loss tips!
1. Cut Down on Sugar
Bobby says sugar is “the devil” if you are trying to lose weight!
Sugar is one of the biggest culprits when it comes to weight gain. It’s found in many processed foods, so it’s important to read labels carefully.
By cutting down on sugar, you will lose weight. You will also reduce your risk of developing diabetes and other health problems.
One food item that we all love but that has tons of sugar is ice cream.
Bobby calls ice cream “sugar bombs” as most ice creams have about 18-27 grams of sugar per serving!
Next time, try the So delicious dairy-free mint chip ice cream. It is sugar-free!
Bobby also advises us to stop drinking drink soda, including diet Coke.
Even though diet coke has no calories, it has artificial sugars that trick our brains into craving more sweetness.
Sugar alcohol that is ok to consume in his view is monk fruit, stevia, or good-quality erythritol.
These are 2 soda replacements he recommends:
1. Steaz Ice Green Tea. It’s sugar-free, it’s refreshing, and it takes great!
2. Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar. It’s low on sugar and has the mother. The mother contributes to healthy gut bacteria which can help with weight loss.
2. Go Low-Carb
Bobby is a big believer in a low-carb diet, also known as the Keto diet.
The way it works is that by reducing your simple carbohydrate intake, you’ll force your body to burn fat for energy.
This can lead to quick weight loss, especially in the first few weeks.
In my personal opinion, if you want to try a Keto diet, only do it for about a month. A long-term keto diet can have detrimental effects on your health.
The following are some on Bobby’s low-carb recommendations:
1. Outer Aisle Sandwich Thins. They are made mainly from cauliflower and have 1 net carb per cauliflower thin.
2. Pasta Zero by Nasoya. Eat shirataki noodles instead of regular pasta. They are low-carb, low in calories, and are the best tasting out there if it’s kind.
Finally, Bobby says to never combine fat with carbs. Combining those two will slow down your metabolism and spikes your blood sugar.
3. Eat Clean Ingredients
To me, what Bobby is known for is clean eating. Eating clean means avoiding processed foods and sticking to whole, natural ingredients.
Bobby wants you to stay away from preservatives, artificial colors, and natural flavors.
This can help you lose weight because you’ll be consuming fewer calories and more nutrients.
If you take the time to look you can find just about anything made from clean ingredients. Even crackers!
These two ar Bobby’s favorite cracker brands:
1. Flachers Crackers. They have 1 net carb and are made from clean ingredients.
2. HU Grain-Free Crackers. They even have pizza flavor. All real ingredients as well!
4. Eat Good Quality Fat Only
Bobby says that if you are trying to lose weight, if you are going to eat fat, it better be the good kind of fat.
Avoid trans fats and limit your intake of saturated fats.
Instead, focus on healthy fats like those found in nuts, seeds, avocados, and fatty fish.
Bobby also reminds us to stay away from crummy oils like canola oil and sunflower oil.
His favorite oils for consumption are extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, and avocado oil.
He points out how so many food companies nowadays use bad oils because they are cheaper.
He gives the following examples:
1. Hummus is notorious for having added processed oils. The bad ones.
So if you want to eat hummus, he recommends the brand Cava. The Cava hummus has no added oils at all!
2. Salad dressings are another product known for having cheap oils.
For this, he recommends the brand Primal Kitchen or Chosen Foods. Both make amazing avocado oil-based dressings.
This is one of the reasons why we should always read the ingredients on labels!
5. Don’t Deprive Yourself
Allow for occasional indulgences in moderation.
One of the biggest mistakes people make when trying to lose weight is completely cutting out their favorite foods.
This can lead to feelings of deprivation and ultimately result in binge eating or giving up on the diet altogether.
Plan for a small treat once a day or find healthier alternatives to your favorite indulgences.
Bobby can be an expert in helping you stay on track with your weight loss goals while still enjoying the foods you love.
He bakes cookies, cupcakes, etc. But, when he cooks, he swaps ingredients for healthier ones.
For example, he will use almond flour instead of regular flour. He also uses chocolate chips made from stevia or erythritol instead of cane sugar.
Bobby also recommends snacks that are healthy and low in calories. For example gimMe seaweed snacks.
This way he doesn’t deprive himself. But he still gets to feel good about not putting anything harmful in his body.
Conclusion
Keep in mind that the Flavcity Youtube channel’s focus is not to help people lose weight.
In fact, many of the products Bobby recommends are high in calories.
Yet, the products he does recommend are top-of-the-line healthwise.
And I would much rather you pick the salad dressing he recommends than one made with oils that are harmful to your body.
In the long run, this will help your metabolism work more efficiently.
Bobby recognizes that the products he recommends are more expensive. However, he believes it is worth it because you are investing in your health.
All in all, if you are looking for recipes, meal prep tips, and grocery shopping guides, Bobby will provide you with the tools you need to make healthy eating a part of your daily routine.
Also, check out the Flavcity app. You can scan food items and it will tell you whether it is “Bobby Approved” or not. How cool is that!
