If I weren’t gay, I would probably have a little crush on Will Tennyson. After all, who can resist a mama’s boy and dog lover! Will does have a girlfriend, what’s cool about her is that she eats plant-based foods!

If you don’t know who I’m talking about, Will is a Canadian YouTube celebrity who went from being fat to now being a bodybuilder.

He knows the physical and mental struggles of losing weight. So, who better than him to get some weight loss secrets from!

Tip #1: Eat A Very High Protein Diet

Protein will curb your appetite and help keep you full longer. You will feel more satisfied after meals and will be less likely to crave snacks.

Protein takes a lot of energy to break down. About 30% of the calories from protein that you eat are used just to break down the food. That kind of calorie loss can add up and help you to see changes in your waistline soon.

Tip #2: Increase Your NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis)

Non-exercise activity thermogenesis refers to all the small movements you make throughout your day. Or, in other words, the energy that you spend from other than sleeping, eating, and exercising.

Will likes to shoot for 10,000 steps per day, but when he is trying to lose weight, he increases that to 15k to 20k steps.

Focus on progressive overload, meaning make your body do more than it did the previous week. Training will make you stronger, increase your endurance, increase your metabolism, and improve overall health.

Try making basic dishes with a lot of flavors by using a lot of spices and herbs. Also, swap certain food with lower-calorie options. For example, use powdered peanut butter instead of regular peanut butter.

Tip #7: Trick Your Mind

Losing body fat can be a mental game more than anything. Will Tennyson explains that when we know we are in a calorie deficit, our minds convince us we must be hungry.

The way to get around this is not to change our eating routine or the volume of food we eat, but just lower the calories.
